What I like this is that I feel like you're not preaching, that you're genuinely trying to figure out some difficult stuff. Not easy. Rock on.

We’ll written, sir. As I find myself nodding and reading, I’d say you nailed it - and hope your fellow journalists stand up and take note. But, on climate change…it’s ok to have been wrong on the assumption(s)or premises because it brought us to a place of awareness and (small) change in everyday behavior? Doesn’t pass the sniff test, IMO. Perhaps a rabbit hole here so I will stop! TY for an insightful and thoughtful piece of JOURNALISM! (Hand-clapping emoji!)

PS. Speaking of China/Wuhan/Virology lab, any concern regarding the purchase of large parcel of acreage in Florida to open a primate testing and research center? Scary, if true.

I am a teacher and as much fun as it is to blame teachers and their unions because teachers are bossy women who are cruel to youngsters and unions enable their laziness and abusive behavior -here are some truths

1. most schools offered in person instruction after a matter of months and gave families a choice. I was back in 5 and taught 18-25 in person and 5-15 on zoom at the same time.

2. Many families pressured districts to remain closed or keep their kids on zoom.

3. Many stupid parents kept their kids at home for no particular reason even if they were failing

4. Most union locals wanted us to come back. Most of us did because zoom sucks and kids do not do their work.

5. Again most schools were not out for a year -most were back under the year give or take-depending on the families and surveys given

6. I hate people now but i like children still, including my own kids and my own students. Blame me again for something. Go ahead

Now that there has been time for controlled, randomized, double-blind studies of the efficacy of previously existing off-label medicines against covid, wouldn't you expect the scientific consensus to evolve to support your claim that an opportunity was missed here? I have not been able to find any evidence that it has. Can you point to some?

If your point was only that an opportunity *could* have been missed, I don't disagree. (How could anyone doubt it after the opioid catastrophe?) But it's not a strong argument and, I think, risks damaging your credibility for little benefit.
